As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month has special meaning to TVC Insurance, as TVC Insurance Director, Jeana Courtois, is a breast cancer survivor. We are so proud to have a leader who has endured great difficulty, rising above with such strength and courage.
Unfortunately, most of us know someone who has fought this same battle, as 1 in 8 women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. During the month of October, TVC Insurance has promised to give back and “join the fight” in honor of our friend and all women affected.
Project31 is a local nonprofit in Oklahoma City, dedicated to restoring lives and families impacted by breast cancer. Project31 offers counseling, retreats, and support groups for women, along with much more. Sarah McLean, founder of Project31, stopped by the TVC Insurance headquarters and spoke about the impact the organization is making in the lives of women during and after their individual battles.
Jeana, and so many other women would never be in the place they were today without Project31 and the work this nonprofit performs. Thank you for sharing your mission with us, Sarah! If you see any of your TVC Insurance agents wearing jeans on Fridays, it is because TVC Insurance is partnering with this life-changing organization to help the cause!
Jeana, her family, and many others also would not be in the same place without the help of their insurance provider, who served them in their time of need. This is why at TVC Insurance, providing our customers with the best coverage is our passion. TVC Insurance protects you from the unexpected, so your dreams can truly become possible. Insurance protected Jeana in her time of need and she shares,
“I know health insurance is a touchy subject, but I want to stress the importance of having it. You know what's really expensive? Cancer. In the last year, my health insurance has saved me somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 million dollars.
Also a reminder, it can happen to you. You know how I know? It happened to me. Two other insurance policies have helped us from certain financial disaster, short term & long term disability. Both disability policies pay 60% of your salary. Short term is for 3 months and long term takes over after that. If I didn't have these policies in place, I really don't know what we would have done. Losing 40% of my income has not been easy, but it is a lot better than losing all of it. As you're making your annual elections for your benefits, I would highly recommend that you look into both.
Feel a little better about what you're paying for insurance? Hope this helped!”
